Absolute / Perfect Pitch partner?

I purchased Burge's Ear Training Super course and have made it through several of the stages, but find it difficult to stay disciplined doing this alone. Out of all the musician's I've approached, none of them seem interested in pursuing any rigorous aural training, let alone perfect pitch. It would help so much to talk to others who are on the same road. Does anyone know of a website or forum in which people are actively involved in training for this perception? if you think about it like that, it's kinda hard to answer clearly. If you had a concussion and can't remember anything, does that mean that something is wrong with your brain?

For instance,after you had a concussion, if the doctor gave you tests on your memory, thinking, balance, reaction time, etc., and your results weren't normal or up to standards, would that mean that there is DEFINITELY something wrong in your brain like a bruised vessel or an injured nerve or something? Or can you fail some of the tests that the doctor gives you and they find nothing wrong with your brain when they give you like a CAT scan or whatever it's called? And also, when you hit your head and pass out from it, does it mean that something has CERTAINLY been injured in yoyr brain, or could it have been a fluke and it just hit your skull or something?

It can take months to recover from a concussion, be very careful not to take any more head injuries until fully healed as it has been linked to many sports deaths (playing before concussion has fully healed).

How can i know if i'm pregnant or is there something wrong with me?

You see i had sex with my boyfriend for the first time ever a month ago, since, i've been feeling nauseated really dizzy and I was really nervous about being pregnant but i knew it was still to early to do the test so i waited a few days, then my period came but different, normally my period is a 2-5 days light blood shed and painless, but this one was since before it started i knew it was different, i got cramps all over my hips and my back hurt and i was really down and my period lasted 8 days and it was simply a pain i could hardly even get out of my bed. when i was finally normal again i had a car accident which caused me a brain concussion a broken foot and 3 days in the hospital, in total i had 5 x-rays and 6 tomography, i got out of the hospital and while i was trying to control how to use that thing we use to walk i fell from the stairs and hit my head really hard and fell unconscious, plus, in the hospital they found out i have a severe anemia and i have to take really strong antibiotics, now i take 8 pills per day, and yesterday my sister and i were tickling each other when she threw herself in me right in my belly and started jumping in me, i started bleeding but couldn't understand why, so is there a way that even though all i've been through since last month i'm pregnant? or is there something wrong with me? please help me i'm really confused (:

Why Am i Having Concussion Symptoms for so long?

Personally i have had 3 concussions and staying out of sports didnt necessarily help my headaches but they did get worse when i excersiced. I suggest taking ibuprofen everyday and when playing contact sports be more aware of your surroundings when you start to get dizzy or have a migrane take a seat for a few minutes. Hope i helped!

Hello. i am a musician, with 10 years playing piano,guitar,sax. Yesterday me and my bro (ex hs wrestler) was trying to get me ready for varsity wrestling next year, and he made this move where he took me to te ground but tried to cushion the fall but I still landed hard on the right side of my head, granted it was on a thin carpent floor but It still hurt really bad. He checked for dilated eyes but I didnt have that. These are my symptoms... A terrible headache, some dizziness, really weird metallic taste in my mouth, random occurrences of light nausea and it hurts when I look at light... Should I let my husband go on a one-day trip or no?

We live in Texas and have been together for 3 years and have never gone on trips by ourselves. My husband's sister is a musician in NYC and has a very important concert in a week. My husband wants to go to support her because she has no family in this country except him. She says she would really love for him to be there for her. My concern is that I have been given very short notice and I can't take that day off from work. So this really is a long story but I'll try to shorten. Basically we are both in high school and are only a few months apart in age but because he was born really late he is in the grade below me. Im a 13 yr old girl, i have severe depression, and im suicidal. I have had depression for 5 months now, and its killing me. I get suicidal thoughts daily, and close to 1 attempt. My parents know im depressed and suicidal but they dont know how bad it is. I keep thinking about stabbing myself, or getting my dads gun and shooting myself, but i try my best not to, instead i cut myself. I noticed my cutting is becoming worse, and deeper. I am trying to avoid cutting my wrist because its now too noticeable and i dont want people to see it, so now i cut on my ankles, and my elbow. I just cut my elbow and my cuts are getting deeper. I know i need help. My parents are finally taking me to a physcologist this friday, Do they look and try to find cuts, or will they ask? Head Injury? Concussion? What should I do?

I was with my friends not too long ago. We were hanging out, and they said I tripped and hit my right side of my forehead almost near my temple. They said I fell over and what seemed to look like a small seizure. They said I kept begging them for us to leave somewhere, they were agreeing, but for some reason I kept asking. What seemed like forever was only a short amount of time, I finally stood up and started walking. They told me what happen, and I was quite frightened. My walking was a little off at some point. We arrived at McDonalds, and I sat down. I couldn't really read my texts and I think I had a headache. When I got dropped off at my house, I was extremely tired and fell asleep for an hour and a half. I woke up and a small head ache and a bruised forhead. I was wondering what the hell had just happen. I kept wondering if I have and concussion or some kind of head injury. I'm really freaking out right now. I've been searching for answers if sleeping can some times reduce symptoms and relive pain. Plenty of musicians continue to make music in their later years, but so few come up with great songs or albums as they age. Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Pink Floyd - none of them had any great songs after age 50 (or even 40). I can think of only Neil Young and Carlos Santana. Who else?

Whats your worst fall?

Last bad fall I had was back in November. I do Civil War Reenacting and we were charging down a hill. Where I was at there was brush at the bottom but to either side there was just dirt. Well there was a small ditch there. Horse didn't see it til last minute and he tried to make the save, but he went down, flipped over on me. I barely managed to get my feet out of the stirrups as he tried to get up with me under him again. Luckily he managed not to step on me and I came out relatively okay except for a bad pinched nerve, no feeling in my legs for a few days and completely sore. Few days of muscle relaxers and pain killers and I was okay for the most part.

Yes I do believe that they screwed up with the suspension. There was an article in the local paper here that had Rome still angry over the suspension (this was around game 5 or 6), and that he saw the hit no different than the Chara hit, an unfortunate incident (Chara got 0 games). I am on his side on that one. Additionally, the hit on Raymond was just as bad, and that hit resulted in 0 games. I understand the NHL is trying to get rid of headshots, but they are getting to a point where it takes precedence over other hits like roughing the passer in the NFL (bullshit). I would like to join the military and my family wants me to pursue a career in music, but i don't think im good enough to play professionally. Although i have been playing since the 4th grade, I stopped taking lessons my sophomore year and just graduated this past June. I was lead trumpet for the Jazz band, Marching band and symphonic band. I have been complemented by professors from some well known jazz universities (Antonio Garcia VCU, for example) Mostly commenting on my tone. My problem is to become a professional trumpet player you have to be good at scales and Sight reading, which I am not. I also do not like the Idea of having to practice for 3 hours a day, trumpet does not interest me that much. We've had black mold in my mom's room since last November. It seems she's developed these symptoms since then, but she had also fallen down stairs and had a concussion in February 2010. So the doctor told her it was from the concussion, as it can take up to 18 months to get better. We've always forgotten to mention the black mold, though.. So can black mold cause these symptoms?

Concussion from landing on feet?

So Wednesday I was with a couple of my friends at the park, and we climbed up this rock wall which was about 10-12 feet high. We all jumped down to the grass, but when I jumped down and landed on my feet, I felt a pain on the left side of my head shortly after. I did not hit my head at all. I don't know if I'm just worrying myself, but since then, I felt a dizzy spell that lasted for about a second. Could I have gotten a concussion from landing on my feet? Today is day 2, and I feel fine, but I'm worried.

Things to help relieve a headache/migraine?

I have had one continuous headache/migraine for the past 5 months from a severe concussion i got. I cant remember what it feels like not to have a headache.I have tried many migraine meds such as maxalt, ive tried diamox to relieve the pressure in my head, and other meds... None worked:/ the diamox helped a little but i still had the headache and i couldnt get any sleep so i had to discontinue it. All this pain i go through everyday has caused depression for me and im tired of the s.H. !. T i get everyday from people who dont know what i go through. Everyday im so dizzy and light headed i feel like im gonna pass out, or throw up. I have thrown up a couple of times from being so dizzy and having such a bad migraine. Ive also tried tylenol, motrin, advil, ibeprofen, dosent help at all. I dont see any doctors for a while. Are there any other things to help relieve a headache/migriane?

Im suicidal and need help:/?

Ive been depressed, and have had suicidal thoughts for 4 months now. Considering some of the past days ive had im surprised im still here. Todays my birthday and i might seriously hurt myself. No one even wants to celebrate my birthday because no one cares. I have had 1 suicide attempt in the past and i might try again today. Its either suicide or ill just cut myself like usual. What to expect from a concussion?

I need help. I have a concussion for the first time. I don't think I lost consciousness. I didn't puke or anything, my pupils were fine, everything was fine. I had a headache later on the night that I hit my head. I felt a liiiittle bit slowed down and sensitive to light and sound. Ever since then all I have is this annoying pressure in my head. Its everywhere. I was evaluated by several doctors and all of them said I don't really need a cat scan judging by my symptoms. But this pressure in my head, it won't go away. Has anyone experienxed this? Can anyone tell me how long this will go on for? Its drivin me crazy. I'm kinda lightheaded too. All I do is stay in bed and can't watch tv or anything at all cuz it makes my head hurt. I'm so bored! And I don't know what to expect from this, can anyone relate or tell me something I can do to speed up the healing process...also..I am taking oxycodone. Not orally. Thru my nose. My sister and I are polar opposites she is very loud outgoing and dramatic while I am shy quiet and down to earth. I tried being friends with her at one point, she knew I was having trouble making friends so she introduced me to some of hers which was really nice of her but when she thought that they liked me better than her she wouldnt let me hangout with them anymore. She is always fighting with my parents which can get really annoying to have to listen to all the time. She is loud in general and is always singing/guitar/piano because she want to be a pro musician and whenever someone gets annoyed by her she thinks that we dont support her. She doesn't care if anyone else is annoyed and she just belts it out throught the whole house. She always complains about people being self centered or conrolling. My mom had asked her to blow out a candle in her room beause she didnt want my sister catching the house on fire and she said "no cuz now its just a control issue". And apparently when my bf is over he "controlls" the whole entire house when actually my sister just doesnt want to be in the same room is us and if we are in a certain room we are "controlling" it. She has on occasion gotten pissed and thrown stuff at me and even my bf, she has dumped coffee on me for rolling my eyes at a fight she was having with my mom. She is angry because she thinks I dont get punished for bad behavior when I actually dont really do anything to get in trouble at all. A few weeks ago she wouldnt stop singing at the top of her lungs and I told her to shut up and quit being loud all the time then she started cussing me out calling me a f***ing self centered b*** and I snapped and got into a physical fight with her (I know it was wrong but that was a beating 10 yrs in the making). She was pretty pleased with herself though because I got grounded finaly for the first time in my life. Today she was wearing my boots and I asked her if they were mine and she said yes so I rolled my eyes becuase its really annoying when she uses my stuff then she yelled at me saying I could just ask her to take them off and she would. 10 mins went by and she is still wearing them so I asked if she could please take them off and she said I was overreacting and then she wore them out to go hang with her friends. I mean I can't even stand to be around her my parents say that im being mean for avoiding her and not talking to her but I just can't take it anymore I dont wanna waste my time with her. I just started working as a Kindergarten teacher and most of the boys have such feminine names such as Braden, Kaden, Kasen, etc. Also, they are often misspelled, which makes it really annoying for teachers. Signs of concussion in a 2 year old?

My baby was sitting on the toilet and right once i turned my back to turn the water on for her bath she fell on her face on the floor, i picked her up immediately she cried and i gave her water and Tylenol after i asked her is she was ok she said ok, then i asked her who every ones name was and etc and she named everyone name correctly she calmed down had fun in her bath and is walking around fine. I am a first time mom so i'm terrified to let her go to bed, with her talking fine etc does this show that she does not at all have a concussion? or should i still be alert and take her to the dr tomorrow?

Help bringing my pony back to work?

I would say wait 1 or 2 more weeks before riding her. But while your waiting try taking her out on a lunge line doing short walk trot session about 15 mins. a day. Also take her out on a lead line on trails and go for a walk. Don't try and canter her for a bit. Once the 1 or 2 is up do light walk exersizes with you on her. Don't ride for long about 20-30 minutes every other day. Keep doing this until you think she is ready then try cantering her on lunge first before trying to do canter with you on her back. Me and my band are looking for a bassist and a vocalist, but can't seem to find any. We would try local clubs and places like that but we're only 14-15. Not in the true sense of the term, but most doctors will tells you not to ride either. If you were to fall or get another knock to the head it can lead to serious complications. Since horses are unpredictable, you should avoid riding until you're healed after 3 weeks.

PLEASE READ HELP!:I accidentally threw a empty water bottle at my brothers forehead and the cap hit his head.?

It left a small lining mark on his head (this happened about 14 hours ago, and I threw it to intentionally hit the bed 3 feet away from him, (I am 13 and he is 14) and he cried for a bit then stopped, I had him put a bag of ice on his head, where it was and he said he had a head ache. I staid up for hours googleing as much info as I could find. I am scared and I dont know if he might have a mild concussion, because sines of this stuff dont always appear immediatly (I havent told our parents) I tested to see if his eyes dialated correctly when light hit them, and they dialated correctly, his pupils are the same size,so thats good, but I had him sleep it off, and he still had a slight mild head ache when he woke up, and we just ate taco bell, and he ate sum sort of mexican ice ream (i told him not to) and now he feels like he wants to sleep, nautious which can be caused by a mild cuncusion or the bad food. It hurt really bad though and now my head hurts a little (like 8 hours later). I've had a little trouble remembering short term things throughout the day. Hit my head kinda hard, possible concussion?

Today I hit the upper right part of my head my hitting myself(don't ask why) and I felt something move inside my head. I don't have a headache, dizziness or nausea except Im having short time memory loss and I'm getting kind of confused. I hit myself pretty hard but not intense, it was with the palm of my hand. I have a bit of anxiety and I just want to reassure myself that I do not have a concussion.

I broke up with an abusive alcoholic a year ago almost...we were together for 5 years (20-25) and he was a musician...I never really noticed a problem until a year after we started dating...we moved into his Dad's house because he was a vet on full disability and needed help with the kids...my ex was the oldest...we tried to sort thongs out Untill we realized we couldn't so me and him and a couple friends moved up to Nashville to start over...well his drinking got worse and so did the abuse..he started to abuse my friend as well so we kicked him out...he moves in with a friend in Oregon and months go by and we haven't heard anything...he left all of his things, including his dog, and skipped town...meanwhile I met somebody who is smart, funny, respectful and we started dating..he asked me if I would move with him so he could finish school, and I said yes (I'm finishing school up as well life is on a great track)...my friend was so happy for me, I found a sublease and moved 6 hours away...well I got a phone call from a the friend who let my ex stay with him and he told me he had to kick him out because of drinking...I got a message from my ex threating to come back and was pissed I hadnt called him about his stuff...he wants mento ship his things but I don't even live there or have the money...he sends my friend nasty emails...we just don't want he tramua in our lives anymore...what are we supposed to do? What can we do legally? I'm trying to see if his sis can get his things but she is a minor...the parents are both junkies...I just felt bad for him and now he's like a nightmare that won't leave us alone...I'm scared...

I have a question about a mild concussion?

If you remenber all those items about your fall then it wouldn't affect your memory of being a virgin or not. But what does happen it that these memories of the accident are still fresh in your and it will take some time to process. So other events in your mind are placed in second place.. You think you have forgotten things but they are still there. You just have to refresh your memory.

A mild concussion will usually cause you to forgot events that occured at the time of the concussion. Unless you had suffered severe brain damage it is not likely that you would have retrograde amnesia (forgetting what happened prior to your concussion). If you did lose your memory of that particular intimate moment, I would hope that your friend would tell you the truth of everything that happened.

What do you think about the name "Aubrey James Braden"?

I know it is really a boys name but it is being used on so many girls now that I don't think its a good idea for a boy. My friend just named her daughter it. I think it is going to be a very popular name this year for girls, especially with all of the alternate spellings (Aubree, Aubrie, etc.) It's kind of like naming your boy Ashley. Its just a state of mind you are in. Try thinking more optimistically, because it sounds like you are an amazing person. You may also have some sort of depression, i have this problem as well. I dislike myself strongly, but in a way a kind of like myself as well. Just try to think about all the good things you have done in life, and the good things about your appearance and your personality. Maybe that will change your views. Also, if that doesnt work i would suggest a pill, like lithium for example. To balance out the chemicals in your brain and make you feel better about yourself.

Cadence for a girl and Jace for a boy sound great and unique. Also, you should consider Joslyn (it's my older sister's name)! And I don't know about middle names, but I've found that, usually, it sounds good if you have a first name that ends with a consonant sound together with a middle name that ends with an "a" sound (for girls, at least), and vice/versa. Is my mom being ridiculous..?

I HATE HATE HATE visiting my mom's side of the family, and she knows this. She always waits to tell me at the last minute and tries to act like she told me when she found out. Am I sick or is this normal for teens?

I have a concussion and haven't been able to workout lately. Ive gained ten pounds in about two or three weeks. When i look or think about food i just start crying or freaking out. Not that ive been forcing myself to get sick but sometimes after i eat i can't hold down my food for more than twenty minutes. My friend was unconscious for three days due to a major concussion. Several hours after leaving the hospital he said that he was still a little woozy and his head hurt a little so he was gonna take a nap and I havent heard from him since. I've heard rumors that you can die if you fall asleep after a concussion. Is this true???

If you ever notice, some of the popular girls are not all that pretty in reality. They look pretty because they present themselves as pretty, they act the part, that kind of thing, I'm sure you're not unattractive, but I know how easy it is to feel that way compared to all these other girls every day. 7th grade is a really rough time. This year and the next few will probably be the hardest in your life. But going through unpleasant, discouraging, and f*ed up things like you have makes you feel bad about yourself. Especially when it happened in different places by different people. It makes you feel like its you. But I promise you it's not. I don't know how to tell you how to do this, but if you can find a way to view yourself different everything will change for you. when you think bad things about yourself and don't have confidence, it's easy for people to take advantage of that weakness, even though you are probably a much stronger person than them. Also how you see yourself has a lot to do with how others see you. When you believe in yourself, you're posture is different, how you walk is different, your tone of voice, assertiveness, etc. So whether they are aware of it or not, people pick up on the fact that and treat you differently because of it.

Just wondering. He is the best ECW Original of all time. He always remained with the brand, and he should have been the ECW Champion. Or he could team up with his buddy Galvin Spear. I thought he was a very original wrestler, a great role model and a very talented young man. I am surprised how he couldn't manage a way to be the ECW Champion and stay longer with the WWE. Advice on recording drums?

Ok, My friend and I are both musicians and have recently been talking about recording our ideas. He plays guitar/ some vocals. I play drums and do vocals. I am looking into getting a drum microphone kit (probably a 5-7 mic kit) so we can start recording drums. I know to record vocals and guitars there are interfaces like the M-Audio Fasttrack and recording software (We are planning on purchasing that) But what I am confused about is what do I need to plug all those drum microphones into so I can put the audio onto my computer and recording software. Cause there will be around 5-7 mics. I have an 8 channel Powered mixer, but we usually use that to play through the PA's, plug guitars into, plug a microphone into, etc. I don't know if that would be useful for drum recording or anything but what do I know, Im still a teenager trying to learn what I can and pursue a dream. So please any help from experienced people would be much appreciated. (Also consider we are teenagers and are on a sorta slim budget)
