What would happen if you fell asleep after being in a major concussion?

My friend was unconscious for three days due to a major concussion. Several hours after leaving the hospital he said that he was still a little woozy and his head hurt a little so he was gonna take a nap and I havent heard from him since. I've heard rumors that you can die if you fall asleep after a concussion. Is this true???
