Why are baby boy names so feminine now? And misspelled?

I just started working as a Kindergarten teacher and most of the boys have such feminine names such as Braden, Kaden, Kasen, etc. Also, they are often misspelled, which makes it really annoying for teachers. Braden can be spelled Braeden, Braiden, Bradin, etc. Also, why do parents make up names? (Eg Kasen). I have a girl named Sera, and I had been pronouncing her name "Seara", then heard her mother call her Sarah. Back when I was a kid names were spelled correctly. What is with this new generation???
